Connection

03Jun
Your love, O Lord, for ever will I sing;
from age to age my mouth will proclaim your faithfulness.

 For I am persuaded that your love is established for ever;
you have set your faithfulness firmly in the heavens.
- Psalm 89:1, 2

The act of completely giving oneself to God is never easy; however, David tells of how his covenant and love for God allowed him to have a prosperous kingdom. This can be applied to all aspects of life. When we trust in God and love God he begins to put us on the right path. The closer this connection grows the more it allows one to realize their true values. This can be big or small whether it is something big such as realizing the importance of your family and community or the love of a new hobby. The more your connection with God grows the more you will enjoy and recognize these values.

Personally, I came to this realization through athletics. I noticed that as my connection with God grew better I began to perform better in my athletic endeavors. I believe this is because the relationship between person and God is two-way. Once we realize how much God loves us, we do everything we can to respond by reflecting it back in everything we do.
