OUR MISSION
The mission of “Faith and Fiction” is to enhance the spiritual and moral growth of participants through reading and discussing fictional short stories from a faith perspective. In sharing different viewpoints and lived experiences with one another, we seek to follow the teachings of Jesus and better understand how best to live. Our time together is guided by the following precepts:
-
considering meaningful questions about our shared humanity,
-
appreciating the experiences of those who are different from ourselves,
-
respecting those who question and test their faith,
-
searching for Christian values (love, forgiveness, grace) that arise in everyday encounters and struggles,
-
welcoming members and visitors with fellowship and friendship, and
-
valuing the ministry that emerges from our growth as individuals and as a group from our discussions.
