Join us for the  second annual New Orleans Mahjong Classic , returning to the historic Hotel Monteleone in the heart of the French Quarter, the weekend of October 23–24, 2026. After a sold-out debut in 2025, this one-of-a-kind event has quickly become the largest nonprofit Mahjong tournament in the country. If you missed it last year, now is your chance to experience Mahjong in the Big Easy at its best. Mahjong influencer and instructor Molly “Mahjong” Hardy returns to direct the tournament and headline the weekend. It’s time to crown the 2026 Queen (or King) of New Orleans Mahjong and receive some major prizes.

  • More exclusive tournament: Limited to 300 players
  • Merchandise for Sale - Commemorative t-shirts and other items!  (Stay tuned as these will also be available online so that you can wear them for the tournament!)
  • Four rounds of Mahjong: Expanded gameplay based on player feedback
  • Enhanced venue experience: Tournament play returns to the Iberville Ballroom, with lunch hosted in the Queen Anne Ballroom
  • Featured presentation: Molly Hardy will introduce the new tiletime app, alongside a presentation from Trinity Loaves & Fishes

All net proceeds from the New Orleans Mahjong Classic benefit Trinity Loaves & Fishes, a ministry of Trinity Episcopal Church that provided 65,500 meals in 2025 to neighbors in need across New Orleans. What began in the wake of Hurricane Katrina as a grassroots bag-lunch ministry has grown into a wide-reaching food program serving the city through daily meal distribution, hot food service, summer and after-school support, and direct outreach to unhoused communities. Trinity Loaves & Fishes can do this work because of a strong network of volunteers, generous donors, grant support, and community partnerships. Your participation helps keep this mission moving forward and directly supports a stronger, more nourished New Orleans.

The weekend kicks off with an expanded Sips & Sweets pre-party on Friday, October 23 in the Queen Anne Ballroom at Hotel Monteleone. We'll welcome Mahjong Molly, and up to 200 guests! Let's make this a BIG party!  Presented in partnership with tiletime, the evening will feature champagne, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, a cash bar, shopping, raffles, and interactive activities—all in a fun, social setting for Mahjong enthusiasts to connect before tournament day.
