TLF Hot Food Thursdays
Category: In the Local Community Trinity Loaves and Fishes
Participate in impactful volunteering on Thursdays with the TLF Hot Meals program located at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Launched in March 2022, this initiative provides 200 hot meals to the greater New Orleans area. Some of our favorite menus include pork and vegetable stir-fry with mandarin orange and a fortune cookie, smothered chicken and vegetables over rice with garlic bread, chicken enchilada casserole with salsa, and meat bolognese with a side salad.
What to expect on a typical shift:
Your volunteer day will start around 11:00am with an orientation, followed by station assignment. Tasks may include preparing sides, packaging boxes, loading the TLF truck, distributing meals to-go around noon, and cleaning dirty pots and pans. On a typical Thursday, you'll work alongside 10 other volunteers from diverse backgrounds. This is an excellent opportunity to directly serve those in need, connect with other volunteers and be out the door by 1:00pm. Earlier shifts are available for those interested in cooking by contacting .
Our sign-up process is ongoing, and email reminders will be sent out on the Tuesday before your shift.
