Called to Use Our Gifts

Explore your spiritual gifts, discover where God may be calling you, and find meaningful ways to put those gifts into action at Trinity and in the wider community.

In our Discovering God’s Vision for Your Life class, we talk about Christianity as a participant sport. There are no benchwarmers on God’s team and no spectators looking on from the stands. We all have a position to play, and each of us is called to use the gifts God has given us.

But discerning those gifts is only the beginning. The next question is how we put them into action—here at Trinity, in our neighborhoods, and throughout the wider community.

The gifts each of us carries are meant to be shared with others, not used alone.

If you are ready to explore where God may be leading you and how your unique gifts fit into that vision, we invite you to join the next Discovering God’s Vision for Your Life cohort. The class will meet on Saturdays, October 17 and 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Through conversation, reflection, and spiritual gifts discernment, participants will explore the gifts they bring and how those gifts might shape their involvement in the life and ministry of the church.

That conversation continues Sunday, October 18, at 9 a.m. with our Breakfast Formation gathering on belonging and interconnection. We’ll explore how the gifts each of us carries are meant to be shared with others, not used alone. Members of our first spiritual gifts group will lead table conversations about putting those gifts to work, both here at Trinity and through our partnerships with local organizations.

Breakfast Formation will also offer specific ways to get involved in small groups, ministries, and organizations serving our community. Breakfast is provided, and all are welcome.

Whether you are seeking clarity about your personal calling, looking for a new ministry or way to serve, or simply hoping to connect more deeply with God and fellow parishioners, there is a place for you in the conversation—and a place for your gifts in our shared life together.
