I am so blessed to work and serve this community as a member of the church staff, but feel equally as grateful as a fellow parishioner, raising my two young daughters in an intergenerational faith community that shows up in countless ways.
The blessing of community doesn’t happen TO you; it happens WITH you.
My husband and I moved to New Orleans in 2008, far away from our families and support systems, and were quickly enveloped in the community of Trinity. We’ve been held in prayer and celebration, counseled, taught, fed, and rooted in relationships grounded in a shared faith in Christ’s love and mission. We’re determined to reflect those blessings back.
Like any other young family, the demands on our time are countless—but we know that the blessing of community doesn’t happen TO you; it happens WITH you. We have to be active participants. We have to co-create the community we are a part of.
On Wednesday, August 5, Trinity is hosting a Mid-summer Family Night from 5:30–7:30 p.m. on the field and in the Parish House.
This family-style cookout, with inflatable water slides for the kids, is an opportunity to connect and reconnect with the community I’m talking about.
