Letter from Trinity's Wardens and Vestry

March 27, 2020

Dear Trinity Community,

The COVID-19 outbreak demonstrates Trinity’s resilience in the face of great challenge. Many in our community have been directly affected by the virus and all of us are experiencing a “new normal” as we deal with the impacts of the Stay at Home mandate. Trinity Church has faced many challenges over its long history, and we will weather this storm together.

Trinity clergy and staff have worked tirelessly to support, comfort, and inspire our community in this trying time, providing a variety of quality digital offerings and communications. Their commitment has been truly impressive.  This past Sunday’s service, including Paul’s music, Gary’s sermon, and a remote Godly Play lesson by Ashley Bond, brought beauty and hope to both of our families. If you have requests or ideas for additional programming, contact Ashley Eastham at aeastham@trinitynola.com.

We are humbled by the work of our Helping Hands ministry. Trinity parishioners at Lambeth House receive regular communications. The Helping Hands team is also reaching out via email and phone calls to other members of the congregation to let them know they are not dealing with the crisis alone. We also have volunteers available to deliver meals to our members that need to completely isolate for medical reasons. If you know anyone that would benefit from a word of encouragement or delivery of food, or you are able to assist with the Helping Hands ministry, please contact Maria Elliott at melliott@trinitynola.com or (504) 259-2098.

The Vestry met last Tuesday, March 17th via web-conference and is in steady communication with clergy and staff. The Finance and Endowment committees are both monitoring the financial health of the church.  If you are able, please keep up with your pledges and donations to the church. With your support, we will be able to continue our ministry and mission, which are needed now more than ever. We are also accepting dedicated COVID-19 donations to help with our work within the community.  For any questions on how to make your donation, please refer to our website or contact Raina O'Neil at roneil@trinitynola.com or (504) 952-2941.

Our prayers are with you in this challenging time.  We look forward to the day that we worship together again. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
