Many in our parish already know Michelle Cox as a fellow parishioner, ministry leader, and friend. We’re thrilled to welcome her to the Trinity staff as our new Director of Engagement!
Michelle has been part of the Trinity community for nearly 30 years, and she now brings that lifetime of belonging into her full-time work. In her new role, Michelle is focused on helping every person who walks through Trinity’s doors find not just a welcome, but a genuine sense of place—a community where their gifts are known and their presence matters.
Every person who walks through Trinity’s doors deserves not just a welcome, but a genuine sense of place.
Her work will span ministry connection, small-group life, and the many pathways through which people move from visitor to active participant in the life of the church.
Michelle brings to this role a decade of experience in health and wellness coaching, where she helped people build meaningful and lasting connections—with their habits, their bodies, and one another. She also brings a long history of leadership at Trinity, including teaching Godly Play, facilitating restorative justice work, serving on the Vestry, and leading youth ministry.
A cradle Episcopalian and proud product of Beaumont, Texas, Michelle earned her degree from Sewanee: The University of the South. After a stint out west, she settled in New Orleans, where she has happily lived for the past 30 years.
Michelle and her husband are the parents of two children and share their home with two cats and an irresistible dog named Douille. When she’s not at Trinity, you’ll often find her enjoying a good walk-and-talk with a friend, exploring beautiful trails and outdoor spaces, or suiting up as Wonder Woman for her annual march with the Krewe of Chewbacchus.
As Director of Engagement, Michelle is eager to help newcomers and longtime members alike discover deeper connections within the Trinity community.
If you see Michelle around campus, be sure to introduce yourself and welcome her to the staff!
Whether you’re new to Trinity or have been here for years, Michelle would love to help you find meaningful ways to connect. She can be reached at mcox@trinitynola.com.
