On November 7–8, Trinity Loaves & Fishes will host the NOLA Mahjong Classic, the largest philanthropic Mahjong event in U.S. history. The tournament is already sold out with 340 players, a 200-person waitlist, and even a few international guests.
Festivities include a Friday night pre-party and Saturday’s big tournament—already featured in PEOPLE Magazine and other publications.
This is a milestone moment for Trinity Loaves & Fishes and for our church community, bringing both significant financial support and exciting visibility.
Volunteer Opportunities
We’re looking for volunteers from across the congregation—not just TLF regulars. High school students can earn service hours (please note: no volunteers under age 15).
- Monday, September 29: Opportunities include breakdown and loadout, as well as organizing Mahjong sets (some Mahjong knowledge is helpful but not required).
- Tournament Weekend (November 5–8): All other volunteer roles take place during the tournament weekend.

Explore all volunteer opportunities and register online. Please share with friends or family who may be interested—no Mahjong experience required!
In October, more detailed instructions will be sent out for each role and assignment. For now, we’re building our volunteer team so we’re well-prepared and not scrambling at the last minute.
This will be an incredible event for Trinity and TLF—we hope you’ll join us!
