The Restorative Justice Committee has had, as one focus, the plight of juveniles in our city. We have continued to look for ways to enrich the lives of underserved youth in our area.
One dream of our committee has been to create internships for these youth within the businesses of Trinity Church.
We are pleased that this summer we are rolling out a pilot run of this effort. Perlis Co., Auto-Chlor, Christovich & Kearney Law Firm, Baker Donelson Law Firm, and possibly Entergy have answered our call.
The goal is to broaden our young people’s horizons and expose them to new career possibilities.
We are presently partnering with YEP (Youth Empowerment Program) to recruit and train candidates for these internships. We are working out many details but feel encouraged that this dream ministry of Trinity Church will become a reality this summer.
We will be reviewing this opportunity for young people, and it is our hope that the program will expand in the future to include many more businesses and internships. The goal is to broaden our young people’s horizons and expose them to new career possibilities.
Those serving on this committee are Mike Kearney, Sherman Boughton, Tina Scott, Carrie Lewis, and Skipper Boyd. Anyone interested in joining this effort should contact Mike Kearney or Sherman Boughton.
