With Gratitude for Malik Murphy

A simple act of service became a meaningful connection as Trinity Loaves and Fishes volunteers, NAMI clients, and seminary intern Malik Murphy shared fellowship, creativity, and encouragement through the ministry’s monthly bag lunch program.

Trinity Loaves and Fishes began its off-site bag lunch operation at the National Alliance on Mental Illness  (NAMI) Clubhouse in April 2025. TLF volunteers meet on the first Tuesday of each month with NAMI clients and staff at the NAMI Clubhouse.

Together, the team decorates lunch bags with words of encouragement and artwork before filling them with healthy meals for distribution through several Trinity ministries.

Malik Murphy’s kindness, service, and friendship left a lasting impression on everyone at the NAMI Clubhouse.

Recently, the TLF program was blessed to have Malik Murphy join the effort at the NAMI Clubhouse. Malik is an intern from South Carolina who will attend seminary in Austin, Texas, at the end of the summer.

During his time at the NAMI Clubhouse, the staff and NAMI clients grew close to Malik and greatly appreciated his efforts.

On May 12, the NAMI team showed its appreciation in the most appropriate way: a farewell gift of framed lunch bags featuring artwork and words of encouragement.

We will miss you, Malik, and thank you for all your hard work!
