The Feast of St. Michael and All Angels

30Sep
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
  bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and do not forget all his benefits—
who forgives all your iniquity,
  who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the Pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good as long as you live
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The Lord works vindication
and justice for all who are oppressed.
He made known his ways to Moses,
his acts to the people of Israel.
The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

Today the church celebrates the feast of St. Michael and All Angels. The appointed Psalm for today is one of praise and thanksgiving to God for the many things God has done in our lives. It is a Psalm that has been proclaimed for centuries by prophets throughout the Old and New Testament. On this day, may we reflect on the many blessings that come from God, and may it bless our soul each and every day.

Musical Reflection - Ye Holy Angels Bright - Chet Valley Churches

He forgives all our sins

He redeems our lives from the grave.

He crowns our life with mercy and loving-kindness

He satisfies our life with good things

He restores our youth like that of an eagle

He is full of compassion and mercy

Bless the Lord, O my soul. Amen.
