The biennial Meals for My Neighbor Gala on Thursday, May 7, was a joyful evening of community, generosity, and celebration in support of Trinity Loaves & Fishes (TLF).
Thanks to the incredible support of attendees, donors, and sponsors, the event raised more than $30,000 to help provide over 15,000 meals to neighbors in need across New Orleans.
The success of this year’s gala will help continue and expand TLF’s important work throughout our city.
Hosted at the beautiful home of Joanie and Jim Huger, the evening brought together volunteers, parishioners, donors, and community partners who share a commitment to feeding the hungry with dignity, compassion, and love.
TLF currently provides more than 65,000 meals annually, and the success of this year’s gala will help continue and expand that important work throughout our city.
The evening also recognized several outstanding supporters of TLF:
- 2026 Volunteer of the Year: Meredith Eldridge
- Lifetime Achievement Award: Ellinor Howard
- Lifetime Achievement Award: Russ Schmehl
Special thanks go to Gala Co-Chairs Kelly Williams and Mark Leggett, whose leadership and dedication helped make the evening such a success. TLF is also deeply grateful to Jim and Joanie Huger for their gracious hospitality and support.
TLF also recognizes the Advisory Board for their leadership and support: Ben Hayne, Ben Williamson, John Fanning, The Rev. John Pitzer, Kelly Williams (Director, Hot Food Program), Toto Robinson, Laura Claverie, Mark Leggett (Chair), Aaron Taylor (Executive Director), and Malik Murphy (Volunteer & Site Coordinator).
