My formative experiences all occur within the Episcopal Church. I was born and raised in Texas and went to Episcopal schools where my mother was either a teacher or principal and my father was the priest or chaplain. I met my wife and married at St. David’s Austin where I worked as a youth minister, and even while working professionally in the theater for 10 years managed to lead retreats at Episcopal Camps and Conference centers on the side. It was not a surprise to many when I entered seminary at Sewanee in 2001. 

After being ordained I served parishes in both San Antonio and Corpus Christi during which we started our family. In 2009, I was invited to study for a Doctorate at The University of Oxford in England where we lived for 6 years. During that time, I also worked for the Diocese of Oxford at both Christ Church Cathedral and in a small rural parish, St. Kenelm’s, in the Cotswolds. Before coming to Trinity Church, Andy served as Rector at Church of the Ascension in Montgomery, Alabama.

We have three kids. Our two eldest, William and Natalie, currently attend St. Paul's School in Concord, Massachusetts, also an Episcopal school. James, our youngest, carpools with me every morning to Trinity to attend Trinity Episcopal School. 

I’n my free time I enjoy music, running, tennis, cooking, camping, playing with the family Weimaraners ‘Otto’ and newly adopted ‘Ollie’, and restoring and riding my old BMW motorcycle - I am still hunting for an appropriate sidecar.

John is a native of Texas and is relatively new to the Episcopal Church. For 20 years, he was a member of the Order of Preachers, a Roman Catholic Religious Order commonly known as the Dominicans. During his time as a Dominican friar, John was Director of the St. Marin de Porres Shrine and Institute in Memphis, and Vocations and Development Director while living here in New Orleans. He was a priest for 17 of those 20 years before transferring his priesthood to The Episcopal Church in May 2016.

Prior to entering Religious life, John received his Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts and Political Science from Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas, and obtained a Master of Divinity from Aquinas Institute in St. Louis, Missouri. Upon entering the Episcopal Church, John studied for a year at the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, receiving a Diploma in Anglican Studies. John’s first assignment upon being received was to St. James Episcopal Church, Baton Rouge. His second assignment was to his current ministry at Trinity.

At Trinity, John is Associate Rector for Administration and Outreach/Mission. John brings a passion for preaching and ministry that is rooted in the 800 year tradition of the Dominicans. He loves music, sports, and spending time with family and friends. John is humbled and honored to be a member of this dynamic ministry team, and a part of the Trinity family.

Bobby has served as the chaplain of Trinity Episcopal School since 2012 and as an Assisting Priest of Trinity Episcopal Church since 2018. He grew up in Dallas, Pennsylvania before moving to Franklin, Tennessee as a teenager. He attended Belmont University in Nashville where he graduated (2007) with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion with a minor in Philosophy.

Bobby attended Duke Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina where he graduated (2010) with a Masters of Divinity and an Anglican Studies Certificate from Duke Divinity’s Anglican House of Studies. During his time in seminary, he joined the Episcopal Church and was confirmed (2009) at St. Joseph's Episcopal in Durham, North Carolina by then Bishop of North Carolina, The Most Reverend Michael B. Curry.

Following his work in seminary, Bobby moved to Boston where he worked for the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts. He spent a year working with the interfaith communities throughout the greater Boston area and raised awareness on topics pertaining to social justice issues. He was a faithful member of Boston's "Common Cathedral", an outdoor church that met in the Boston Common and served those experiencing homelessness in the city.

In 2011, Bobby moved to New Orleans and undertook a year of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE Certification) at East Jefferson General Hospital. While serving at EJGH, he became a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. In 2012, he began his Discernment for Ordained Ministry in the Diocese of Louisiana. In 2014, Bobby joined St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Metairie where he continued his spiritual growth and discernment process under the mentorship of The Very Reverend A.J. Heine, Jr.

Bobby was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons on May 17, 2017, at St. Augustine’s. Later that year, Bobby was ordained to the Sacred Order of Priests at Trinity Episcopal Church during a special school-day service that included the entire student body of Trinity Episcopal School.

Bobby married his wife Julie on January 6, 2018, at Christ Church Cathedral in New Orleans. Julie currently works for Tulane University’s Campus Planning Office. Bobby and Julie are avid travelers and are frequently planning, or preparing, for their next adventure in the world. They have made their home in New Orleans and enjoy participating in the numerous events of the city, including their favorite event of the year, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

Carol was born and raised in New Orleans where her family belonged to St.  Martin’s Parish. She was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons in 1997 in the  Diocese of Mississippi at St. Andrew’s Cathedral. She served in several parishes in  Mississippi, as well as on the Diocesan staff under Bishops Alfred C. Marble and  Duncan Gray, III. She served as the Assistant to the Bishop for Ministry and Economic Development, and after Hurricane Katrina, she served the Diocese as the Coordinator for Disaster Recovery and Rebuilding. 

Carol received her B.A. in Economics from Centenary College of LA, and her Masters of Pastoral Theology from Loyola University of New Orleans. She is  married to The Rev. Frank Spencer, also a deacon, and has two grown sons, David and John, and four grandchildren. After living in Jackson, MS for 40 years, Carol decided it was time to return home to New Orleans in 2016.  

At Trinity, Carol is co-chair of the Mission Commission serving alongside The Rev.  John Pitzer.
